16/3/2016: JUNIOR PREMIERS - SECTION 10-  WELL DONE TO YOU ALL!

I'm extremely excited to announce that our Section 10 team won the 2015 / 2016 Premiership. The tennis throughout the grand final was fantastic with all team members vital to the teams win.

The atmosphere was great with many club members coming down to support the team

Congratulations to the team -  Kyra Rule, Deon Duong, Martin Quan and Andy Tran who all conducted themselves superbly throughout the final and the season.

It was a fantastic send off to both Kyra Rule and Deon Duong who are age out of juniors this year, both have played since young children representing our club and always demonstrating great sportsmanship throughout their junior careers.  Both are transitioning into our senior teams which is fantastic.

Thank you to all players who competed for our club during a most enjoyable 2015 / 2016 summer season. We appreciate and encourage the support of parents to enable our club to field so many teams.

1/6/2015: Historic Plaque Placed at our original home at Garnet Street:- We are thrilled to have this plaque in place at Garnet Street North Sunshine, the original home of our club.  It marks THE PLACE OF BIRTH  of our club ... indeed it's home for it's first 40 years - Our much loved club is a great part of the history of this historic village of Sunshine.

The Plaque was donated by our valued Life Member Laurie Mottin. It was arranged by Chris Humbert with his cousin doing a marvellous job producing it. Phil Beckworth at council got the huge rock put in place. To all these people who 'made it happen' thanks so much.

I'm sure many past and current members will enjoy calling by this historic marker to reflect on many happy days spent on the Garnet Street tennis courts on afternoons now long past.

1/6/2015: New Stove at Club:- The club has purchased a great stove to replace the old one that had seen better days. Thanks so much to those that got in and made it happen, Tamara, Chris, Kristie and George.

15/12/2014: ***** MERRY CHRISTMAS ***** Thank you all for attending the NSTC Christmas party and special thanks to our past players who attended.  Santa made his yearly rounds to meet with the kids and adults (only the good ones of course), and the auction helped raised some money for the club, and we thank everyone who donated gifts to the auction.  We wish everyone a merry Christmas and a happy new year, and hope we see some old and new members at the NSTC next year.

15/12/2014: Apologies for the website being down for an extended period of time, being due to the host provider we where with having technical issues.  The website has now been moved and can be accessed again.

.20/4/2013: Hello all Members. We hope this finds you well.

Our club is just about to order new tracksuit tops that will be very similar in style to the last batch we ordered some five years ago. We'd love our members to take up this offer. A club with uniform really does give a club a great sense of identity.

We all need a warm top when playing tennis so why not think about wearing your club tracksuit with pride. We have ensured the price of $45 is well under the recommended retail price and prices other clubs charge their members for tracksuit tops.

We need to order these by the end of this coming week so can I ask everybody who intends to buy a jacket to reply with gender and jacket size by close of business Thurs the 18th of April. Anyone who needs some time to pay for the jackets are still most welcome to get them, please just let Chris, Jack or John know when you can pay for them.

15/12/2011: The North Sunshine Tennis Club has appointed a new tennis coach who will start next year. His name is Anthony Guccione and is a club professional tennis coach. ( His other claim to fame is being the brother of Australian Davis cup player Chris Guccione.)

Tennis lessons will available to children, teenagers and adults.

The types of coaching that will be available are as follows:
Private lessons, semi private lessons, group lessons, squad lessons, hotshots lessons (children aged from 4 years to 8 years, modified equipment such as low compression tennis balls and small racquets etc).
A dayime ladies groups and an adults night squad is also available.

Anthony is very professional, enthusiastic, hard working and is looking forward to the opportunity to coach yourself or family members in 2012 if desired.

It will be a fresh start to the coaching department in 2012 with Anthony being involved.
The latest equipment, techniques and coaching activities will be available if you do
decide to have coaching at the North Sunshine Tennis Club in 2012.

Coaching will start the first week of the school term next year, which is the first week of February.

Anthony is offering all school children a 1 x complimentary group lesson to see if your child or children like the program.
If you are interested in tennis coaching next year please contact Anthony as soon as possible as Anthony is currently organising lesson times etc.

3/10/2011: North Sunshine Tennis Club HISTORY PROJECT ... Garnet st and beyond

We are thrilled to have gained the services of Mr John Willaton from the Sunshine Historical Society to conduct research and to compile our club history. Our club has a long and proud history and it is vitally important that we preserve this.

So anybody who has anything that can help us with this project be it photos, written history, history that is retained within you alone ....please make contact with John.W via email on jwillo@lizzy.net.au or John.H at swampy25@gmail.com or 0407-298642.

We're just thrilled to be launching this project so if you can help with anything let's know. Don't presume "Oh someone else will pass that info on". Maybe everybody will presume the same and it will be missed. As a last point we are desperate for any photos from the Garnet St courts where our club started in 1936. 75 years young we are! We need to get the history documented.
