15/12/2011: The North Sunshine Tennis Club has appointed a new tennis coach who will start next year. His name is Anthony Guccione and is a club professional tennis coach. ( His other claim to fame is being the brother of Australian Davis cup player Chris Guccione.)

Tennis lessons will available to children, teenagers and adults.

The types of coaching that will be available are as follows:
Private lessons, semi private lessons, group lessons, squad lessons, hotshots lessons (children aged from 4 years to 8 years, modified equipment such as low compression tennis balls and small racquets etc).
A dayime ladies groups and an adults night squad is also available.

Anthony is very professional, enthusiastic, hard working and is looking forward to the opportunity to coach yourself or family members in 2012 if desired.

It will be a fresh start to the coaching department in 2012 with Anthony being involved.
The latest equipment, techniques and coaching activities will be available if you do
decide to have coaching at the North Sunshine Tennis Club in 2012.

Coaching will start the first week of the school term next year, which is the first week of February.

Anthony is offering all school children a 1 x complimentary group lesson to see if your child or children like the program.
If you are interested in tennis coaching next year please contact Anthony as soon as possible as Anthony is currently organising lesson times etc.

12/10/2011: Sizzling Summer of Tennis! NSTC is kicking off this Saturday at 2.30 its sizzling summer of tennis. BBQ and a guaranteed 3 sets of tennis, what is there not to like. Come down and have some fun all for just $5. Get your kids off the xbox and playstation and enjoy the fresh air and exercise!

5/12/2011: post Christmas Party/Reunion:- from John Harvey (NSTC president) This morning I have received 9 emails thrilled with how well yesterday went and wanting their appreciation past onto the committee ..... We did 96 meals .... just fantastic ... a great crowd

More important than that was the reminiscing, the renewing of old friendships from afternoons long past ... It didn't just happened ... there were literally dozens of jobs and many hours of work that went in by many people to bring it about. I hope you too enjoyed it. I hope you got the chance to mix with some of the pioneers of our club who have given us a chance to enjoy the club we have today. I hope when our time of playing passes we can look back on our era with similar fondness, memories and friendships that were on display yesterday. I'm not going to individualise ... will only leave someone out ... like I did with Dicky yesterday ( who did a marvellous job with the photos so i make one exception) but I do say to so many who worked so diligently on so many various tasks a huge thank you.

Last point, we had a 'reflections book' going around ... a few wrote in it ... some lovely reflections, but certainly the majority didn't. We'd love everyone to contribute so if you haven't the books at the club .. include your contact details, era and reflections.

Thanks so much and to those who have sent emails I will respond individually over the next couple of days.

3/10/2011: North Sunshine Tennis Club HISTORY PROJECT ... Garnet st and beyond

We are thrilled to have gained the services of Mr John Willaton from the Sunshine Historical Society to conduct research and to compile our club history. Our club has a long and proud history and it is vitally important that we preserve this.

So anybody who has anything that can help us with this project be it photos, written history, history that is retained within you alone ....please make contact with John.W via email on jwillo@lizzy.net.au or John.H at swampy25@gmail.com or 0407-298642.

We're just thrilled to be launching this project so if you can help with anything let's know. Don't presume "Oh someone else will pass that info on". Maybe everybody will presume the same and it will be missed. As a last point we are desperate for any photos from the Garnet St courts where our club started in 1936. 75 years young we are! We need to get the history documented.

24/5/2011: GRAND FINALS:- The first week of finals have come which leaves 2 out of 3 teams making it to the Grandfnal. Our Mixed Team of Toni, Pat, Anthea, John, Nick & Damian just missed out by one solitary game.

This week we see on Tuesday Ladies of Toni, Michelle, Pat, Hayley & Deb fight for it against Buckley Park at Hillside
Hillside is at Parkwood Green (Off Commmunity Hub 356 J1)

On thursday our mens teams of Peter, Nick, Ovi, John with Chris H on the sidelines fight for a back to flag against West Brunswick at Hadfield (Charles Street enter from Middle Street - 17 C 3)

Please come along and support our guys and girls with plenty of the North Sunshine Spirit..

15/5/2011: Our club was deeply saddened by the passing of Ryan John Riggio. Ryan has been such a brave young man overcoming many battles in his 9 mths of life ... repeatedly overcoming odds the medical world never thought he could. Those close to the Riggio's have no doubt Ryan's bravery emanated from his incredible parents ... our dear friends John and Angela who kept a 9 mth beside vigil. Ryan could not have hoped to have been born into a more magnificent family. To John and Ange, Ryan's Uncle and Aunty Damian and Vicki and his grandparents we offer all our love and prayers during this most difficult of times.

Two tennis balls will need to be supplied on the nite, most time swe use one tin from one team and the winner gets the other clubs tin of balls
Also bring along a share supper The association has given us two semi finals on tuesday and thursday to host this year, will talk next week to organize this.

1/1/2011: HAPPPY NEW YEAR! A new year, and new lot of teams, some teams go up a grade some down, and a fresh start for some potential Djokovic's or Clijster's. I am sure we are all looking forward to a great year ahead, but remember most of all, have FUN!

NSTC has some great new plans for this year including extensions to clubroom and courts, new attire, club history records, and a raft of new things on the horizon. If you have any ideas you think may benefit the club, let one of our committee members know, we are always interested in new ideas and members to help out.

15/10/2010: Old Mans tennis: Update on Old Mans Tennis that we currently had 8 – 12 Regular Members coming along on Tuesday Afternoons. Great effort well done Neil and Jack. New people are always welcome, just pop down to the club on Tuesday Afternoon around 2.30pm and ask for Jack or Neil.

24/5/2010: The new courts are now in and ready to be played on. The first test run was last Saturday the 22nd of May. Our new courts hosted their first hit and official match. The courts played very well, albeit a little slow which is to be expected. All members are most welcome to come down and try out this fantastic addition to our facilities. We do ask all members to use courts 3 & 4 first to spread the wear and tear.
